Project Description
The house is located in a building from the mid-60s, which has a structure of masonry load-bearing walls and one-way reinforced concrete slab.
The objective of the clients was to modernize a house whose distribution has been outdated. With the criterion of the amplitude of spaces, the project focuses on achieving a larger surface area for the living-dining room and the kitchen. To do this, the latter moves to what was previously the main corridor, knocking down the partition that separated it from the living room and incorporating this surface for greater user comfort. Now, the living-dining room occupies about 18m2 and has one more window, which vents directly to the outside terrace. The hall also gains in surface area and comfort, now being the prelude to the kitchen of the house.
On the other hand, and following this same strategy, the corridor was eliminated by expanding the hall. The bathroom also benefits, despite not having modified its surface: it is shifted slightly to fit better geometrically on the floor. This also allows you to have a large window to the interior patio, occupying the space where a laundry room previously existed. The finishes and facilities of the house are renewed to better adapt to the project.
The result is a home that is different from the original, which has the facilities and comforts of a new-build home, and perfectly adapted to customer requirements.
