Project Description
The house is located in a building from the 1940s, which has a structure of masonry load-bearing walls and one-way reinforced concrete slab.
The project seeks to modernize a house whose distribution has become outdated. After analyzing it, the need to connect the living-dining room with the kitchen is detected, so this last piece is exchanged with the existing bedroom on the façade, thus creating a very large room that unifies the living-dining room and kitchen. Likewise, a dressing room attached to the main bedroom is achieved; Through this organization of spaces, it is also possible to make a larger bedroom into an interior patio (the one previously exchanged with the kitchen).
On the other side of the corridor, the most relevant intervention deals with the redistribution of spaces between the laundry room and the bathroom. While the second had a small area, especially considering that it is a three-bedroom house, the first had more than enough in this regard. Therefore, it was decided to expand the bathroom, compensating for the reduction in the laundry room, allowing access from the hall, less invasive with day-to-day use. Finally, the finishes and installations of the house are renewed to better adapt to the project.
The result is a home that is different from the original, that has the facilities and comforts of a new-build home, and is perfectly adapted to the clients’ requirements.
