Project Description
The house is located in a building from the 30s, which has a structure of masonry load-bearing walls and one-way reinforced concrete slab.
The project seeks to modernize a house whose distribution has been outdated. With the criteria of the amplitude of spaces, it was decided to expand the kitchen by absorbing the space previously occupied by the pantry and part of the corridor. With this movement, it is also possible to place the kitchen as a space before the living-dining room. The bathroom is also modified to better fit the existing façade holes, which are not changed from the original project. Finally, the surfaces of the hall and two of the bedrooms are redistributed, making the new rooms more comfortably meet the minimum comfort surfaces. The two bedrooms with balconies at the main facade do not suffer modifications.
With all this, the spaces are more fluid, and greater privacy is achieved in the personal spaces (bedrooms) while the common spaces (kitchen and living-dining room) are better integrated with each other. The finishes and facilities of the house are renewed to better adapt to the project.
The result is a home that is different from the original, which has the facilities and comforts of a new-build home, and perfectly adapted to customer requirements.
